Regional Youth Leadership
Our future should be in good hands
Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) serves the future workforce of our region, specifically high school juniors in Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The experiential nature of RYL provides the opportunity for unique collaboration among a diverse group of students from the Tri-State region attending public, private and home schools in urban, rural and suburban schools.
About the Program
Using the community as our classroom, we collaborate with local business and civic leaders as well as individual schools to enhance the educational experience and complement academic classroom learning. As a non-profit affiliate of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce we are in a unique position to convene a diverse group of stakeholders invested in the success of our youth and future workforce.
Our seven-month program begins with an Orientation/Welcome reception in September and ends in March with a graduation celebration. The class meets one day a month for a day-long session where they are exposed to the complex issues and challenges of our region, introduced to available resources and encouraged to identify their roles and responsibilities as young leaders.
High school sophomores attending public, private and homeschools with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are invited to apply for the 2019-2020 program. Applicants must have approval from their school to participate. For additional information on the program or to download the application please click here (https://regionalyouthleadership.weebly.com/applicants.html). Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2019.
Possible youth leadership topics explored through the program include:
- Criminal Justice
- Cultural Competence
- Economic Development
Organizations are able to connect with this elite group of young leaders who will be the future workforce. RYL is an opportunity for organizations to invest in the success of our youth and future workforce.
