Regional Youth Leadership
Our future should be in good hands
Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) sserves the future workforce of our region, specifically high school juniors in Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The experiential nature of RYL provides the opportunity for unique collaboration among a diverse group of students from the Tri-State region attending public, private and home schools in urban, rural and suburban schools.
About the Program
Using the community as our classroom, we collaborate with local business and civic leaders as well as individual schools to enhance the educational experience and complement academic classroom learning. As a program of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce we are in a unique position to convene a diverse group of stakeholders invested in the success of our youth and future workforce.
The seven-month program begins with orientation in August and concludes with a graduation celebration in March. Sessions occur monthly during the school day at which time participants are introduced to industries, organizations, career opportunities and the multitude of amazing things that exist within our region.
High school sophomores attending public, private and homeschools with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are invited to apply for the 2020-2021 program. Applicants must have approval from their school to participate. Application information can be found here. Please note that completed applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by March 1, 2020.
Possible youth leadership topics explored through the program include:
- Arts & Culture
- Criminal Justice
- Life Success Skills
- Local Government & Economic Development
Organizations are able to connect with this elite group of young leaders who will be the future workforce. RYL is an opportunity for organizations to invest in the success of our youth and future workforce.
