All Ark Encounter employees must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time, perform duties in varied weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat/cold, rain), pass a felony/misdemeanor background check, confirm agreement with Ark Encounter’s Statement of Faith, and adhere to our drug-free workplace policy.

Food & Beverage
The Food and Beverage Team is responsible for maintaining high quality of food and service for all Ark guests. All Food and Beverage Team members provide excellent customer service and learn the menu items, portions, accompaniments, and prices. Must follow all proper procedures for sales and service, and must ensure that food preparation and dining areas are clean. *ALL team members must pass food-handling and cash-handling training upon hire.
Food & Beverage Team Member
The Food and Beverage Team members are responsible for greeting guests and creating an exceptional dining experience. Food and Beverage Team members are required to complete transactions using a POS system (cash register), follow all cash-handling policies, maintain clean work environment, and follow all food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. May be required to cook and assemble food items based on our specifications.
(Minimum Age: 16) Qualifications: Prior food services experience preferred but not required.
Guest Services creates the first impression for all guests throughout their visit at the Ark Encounter. Guest Services Team members are primarily located at the Ark entry/exit points, ticketing kiosks, and the parking lot. The Guest Services Team members’ responsibility is to ensure a seamless entry/exit for our all guests and provide Ark knowledge and event information with guests. *ALL team members must pass cash-handling training upon hire.
Admissions Team Member
The Admissions Team members’ primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless entry for all our guests, provide Ark knowledge, and maintain accurate cash drawer for ticket and membership sales. (Minimum Age: 16) Qualifications: Basic math skills and excellent customer service skills to assist our guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Parking Lot Associate
Parking Lot Associates are front-line positions that start our guests’ day in the best possible way! The Parking Lot Associates are responsible for safely directing traffic in and out of parking lots, ensuring safety of pedestrians utilizing crosswalks, and ensuring that guests are efficiently able to access the ticketing kiosks, shuttles, and so on. (Minimum Age: 18)
Qualifications: Prior customer service experience preferred but not required; must have an outgoing personality and be able to assertively direct and enforce traffic flow.
Guest Services Team Member
The Guest Services Team members are primarily located at the Ark entry/exit points, may also support Admissions Team members at the parking lot as needed. Guest Services Team members meet and greet guests, provide Ark knowledge and event information, proactively seek out guest interaction, and resolve guest questions or concerns. (Minimum Age: 16)
Qualifications: Must have an outgoing personality, be able to proactively interact with guest, and assist our guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
The Housekeeping Team ensures the day-to-day cleanliness of the Ark facilities and grounds. In addition, Housekeeping Team members should anticipate guest needs and help address questions/concerns.
The Housekeeping Associates are responsible for the overall cleanliness throughout the Ark property, buildings, and grounds in accordance with Ark standards. Remove and dispose of trash/recyclables according to policy. May also assist with set up and break down for special events, meetings, and so on. (Minimum Age: 16) Qualifications: Prior custodial/grounds keeping experience preferred, must be self-motivated and a proactive team player.
The Transportation Team is responsible for proper and safe operation of shuttle buses while transporting passengers to and from the Ark and parking lot. *ALL Transportation Team members are subject to DMV/MVR check as part of the background check process. Drivers must possess a valid state driver’s license with CDL passenger endorsement.
Shuttle Drivers are responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses: transporting guests to and from the Ark and parking lot. Shuttle Drivers provide all Ark guests with prompt and friendly transportation throughout their visit, greet guests, and provide on-boarding assistance (wheelchairs, strollers, and so on). (Minimum Age: 21)
Qualifications: Minimum of one year of bus or other heavy duty vehicle driving experience.
Merchandising & Retail
Merchandising and Retail Team provides excellent customer services, assist guests with purchase selection, and complete transactions using POS systems (cash registers). The Merchandising and Retail Team is responsible for ensuring accurate pricing, tracking inventory, maintaining displays and cleanliness of the store, and re-stocking. *ALL team members must pass cash-handling training upon hire.
Retail Team Member
The Retail Team Members are responsible for providing a best-in-class retail experience by engaging directly with guests to assist with product inquiries and transact purchases in a quick and efficient manner. Retail Team Members also interact directly with guests using effective selling techniques, engage with guests asking open-ended questions to assess needs, and anticipate guest needs with directions, event schedules, and Ark information.
(Minimum Age: 16) Qualifications: Minimum experience of one year in retail/cashier environments preferred but not required.
The Maintenance/Facilities Team is responsible for the upkeep, care, and stewardship of the Ark Encounter throughout the property. *ALL team members must complete a TB clearance as part of the pre-employment process.
The Maintenance Associates are responsible for general maintenance activities such as basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, and metal fabrication. Maintenance Associates also assist in preventative maintenance programs such as changing furnace filters, cleaning HVAC units, and routine maintenance of facilities. (Minimum Age: 18) Qualifications: Minimum experience of one year in maintenance/facilities environments highly preferred.
Inventory / Logistics
The Logistics Team is responsible for maintaining warehouse support in pulling, cleaning, and staging product for shipment along with shipping and receiving product to and from vendors. *ALL team members must pass forklift operating training upon hire.
The Logistics Associates load and unload products and/or equipment as shipments arrive at the Ark property, pull and put stock away in accordance with specification using appropriate equipment (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, and so on), pack, stock, organize, and rearrange products in the warehouse. May perform on-grounds deliveries throughout the Ark property, provide assistance with commissary operations, and support maintenance/general upkeep of warehouse facilities. (Minimum Age: 18) Qualifications: Minimum experience of one year in shipping and receiving environments highly preferred.
The Zoo Team is responsible for the animal care on the Ark property. Team members are expected to be involved in all facets of the Ark’s animal care program.

The Zoo Associate functions as a member of the animal care team. This unique opportunity offers the chance to gain valuable knowledge in the workings of zoological institutions and the basics of animal husbandry techniques. Since it is a hands‐on position, the Zoo Associate is expected to be involved in all facets of the Ark’s animal care program. May clean animal enclosures (e.g. rake, hose, sweep, disinfect, remove manure, clean building), operate contact areas, and prepare animal diets/drink under the guidance of the Keeper staff. (Minimum Age: 18) Qualifications: Minimum experience of one year in animal care environment and pursuing an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in zoology or related field preferred.
