DCCH Center for Children and Families is a non-profit multi-service agency. We have a residential treatment program for boys and girls ages 6-14, therapeutic foster care, adoption, outpatient therapy, and in-school services. We started as an Orphanage 190 years ago. We are nationally accredited with the Council on Accreditation. Our mission is to serve children and families who have in many cases experienced some sort of trauma.
We are looking for a full-time Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist. The hours are 3-11. You will be working with eight boys and/or girls ages 6-14. You serve as a surrogate parent supervising them, managing their behavior, mentoring, guiding them through the daily routine. You work with a treatment team that includes a psychologist, social worker, teacher, and specialist like yourself. You receive 40 hours of training, attend treatment staffing's, and treatment team meetings. The children are in the program for around a year and then go home, to foster care, or are adopted. You work hard to develop relationships with them so you can guide and influence them. The children you are working with in many cases have been abused or neglected. The state has either permanently or temporally taken their parents rights away. If you have a passion for working with children and want to have a rewarding mission driven experience than this is the job for you.
