Provides instruction to students including didactic and skills in compliance with the EMS Scope of Practice. Provides students with the background, knowledge and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job. Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels to help support their programs. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic and have an in depth understanding of the principles in their field.

Education Requirements:  Associates Degree in related field, Bachelor Degree in a related field strongly preferred, Level III EMS Instructor through the State of Kentucky or able to get reciprocity.

Five years of work experience as a Registered Nurse or paramedic. Two years of experience teaching in a paramedic program.

It is preferred that the candidate be a certified American Heart instructor in PALS, ACLS, or be willing to obtain certification; familiarity with simulation equipment is helpful.

This dynamic person will be a Nationally Registered Paramedic or Registered Nurse, be a Kentucky Level III EMS Instructor/Evaluator, and have experience teaching EMS providers. Familiarity with NREMT testing and test-writing is necessary.

Work hours (shift) will be:   Primarily days, some nights

Full-time faculty, this is a 12-month position in the Emergency Medical Services program.  The faculty member will advise students in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The EMS program has a certificate and Associate in Applied Science that will prepare students for employment in entry-level positions as a Paramedic.   In addition, the program offers an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate. Gateway EMS majors complete a field/clinical practice in a variety of clinical settings in northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati. The faculty member will also serve as member of the Emergency Medical Services Program Advisory Committee to provide direction to future programming.
