RYL - Regional Youth Leadership
Preparing our community’s most important resource! The Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) program recognizes young leaders in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area schools.

This leadership development program informs, motivates and increases the awareness of selected high school juniors through issue-oriented seminars and interaction with community decision-makers, thus building leadership skills and further encouraging community involvement among young people. The outcome is an investment in the community’s future leadership.

History of RYL
The program was established by the Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation in 1994 as the Northern Kentucky Youth Leadership Program. The first youth leadership class graduated 18 students from 11 Northern Kentucky high schools. Later, it expanded into Cincinnati and since then, the program has grown substantially and increased creditability throughout the region.  Currently, the average class size is 50 with schools from the Cincinnati area and Kentucky equally represented.

RYL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) program and does not charge tuition to any student or school participating in the program. A group of dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors make this program happen to ensure no student is excluded because they could not afford to apply or the school could not justify the expenditure. The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Cincinnati USA Leadership Alumni Association formed a partnership to administer the program through the Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation.
