Northern Kentucky generates 25 percent of the State's exports. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, in 2008 Kentucky's exports totaled more than $19 billion with Canada, France and Mexico as our main trade partners.

The Chamber strives to strengthen and increase International business opportunities for its members through its services and programs designed to help business owners and entrepreneurs identify new market opportunities, build global networks and deal with international trade matters.

Because local and international business is so important to our region, this year's Annual Dinner is themed "Celebrating Local and International Business." New this year will be a silent auction featuring local and international items. Bids will be accepted during the reception.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Chamber's annual awards and the ceremonial passing of the Chairman's gavel, which will include all past chairs of board. Don't miss this largest event of the year!

Enjoy the largest event of the year with a reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and dinner/program immediately following from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The traditional passing of the chairman's gavel will take place as well as the presentation of the Dunlevy, Pieschel, Imagemaker and Unity awards.

Individual tickets and corporate tables of 10 are available. Cost to attend is $65 a person and $650 per table. Business attire/ Black Tie Optional

With emphasis placed on high quality business/education partnerships across the region, this year’s B.E.S.T. Workshop on September 21 will share ways for partners to work towards developing partnership plans that provide high impact for both the school and business.

During last school year, the B.E.S.T. program recognized partners for achieving a “Gold Standard” partnership status based on meeting the following criteria:

1) Measurable Results
2) Implementation of High Impact Initiatives
3) Equal Benefits to School and Business
4) Identifiable Community Impact

One goal this year is to expand the number of partnerships focusing on these criteria as partnerships activities are set and implemented throughout the year. A smoking ban is a controversial subject. Those who do not smoke, and have never smoked, often feel like there is no reason not to employ a public smoking ban. Smokers, however, feel like it is a personal right to be able to smoke in public, and the smoking ban issue is important and personal for them.

While this might seem like a new issue, the disagreement surrounding a motion to ban smoking in public places has been around for a while. There are pros and cons on the smoking ban issue. Come hear both sides of this issue at this Eggs N' Issues.

Participants will walk through the facility and see how we sort collected material. They will see the material tipped from the truck, the separation process, baling of materials and the loading dock. They will learn where the material is sold and what products are created, as well as the benefits of recycling.

Please Note: Participants should dress for the weather in clothing they don't mind getting a bit dirty. They should also wear sturdy shoes. No open toe shoes are permitted.
