New COBRA Subsidy For Involuntary Terminations Seminar

Event Description:

In February, President Obama signed The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the "Stimulus Act") - a landmark piece of legislation designed to aid the ailing U.S. economy. A portion of this legislation expanded the ability involuntarily terminated employees, and their covered spouse and dependent(s), to obtain continuation coverage (such as COBRA continuation coverage) from their former employer’s healthcare plan.

On Thurs., March 26, 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Mazak Training Center, 7975 Foundation Dr., Florence, KY 41042, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Northern Kentucky SHRM has organized a seminar to discuss this expansion of healthcare continuation coverage. David A. Whaley, an attorney in Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Executive Benefits and Compensation Practice Group, and Jerry Deatherage, owner of Diversified Asset Management, Inc. will discuss the steps employers will need to take to ensure compliance with this portion of the Stimulus Act.

Directions:
Take I-275 to the Turkeyfoot Road exit. If you were traveling West, turn left; if you were traveling East, turn right. Travel approximately 2-3 miles, and turn right onto Industrial Road (it is not marked, and is directly before a Remke's Market). Take the first right into Mazak’s property (at the light), and take the first driveway on the right all the way back to the training facility. The entrance is on the back left corner of the building.
