What is Regional Youth Leadership (RYL)?
Regional Youth Leadership is a program for high school juniors in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area who are interested in leadership and community service. Each year, approximately 50 students from over 40 different high schools are chosen to participate in RYL. We believe these students represent our community’s most important resource, our future leaders!
Regional Youth Leadership uses the community as a classroom through interactive sessions with community leaders and decision makers at their various locations throughout the area. The program consists of an orientation, a retreat, seven sessions, and graduation celebration. Because we do use the community as our classroom, the session are held once a month during the week from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Students are required to provide their own transportation and are responsible
for making up any missed school work. Should a school conflict arise with a session date, school must always come first.
We are committed to helping students discover their leadership strengths, inspire effective and compassionate leadership and to strengthen their sense of personal vision and influence to make a positive difference within their schools and communities. This program is unique in that it involves students from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, breaking down social and political barriers across the states.
